Avant Garde Poster

For this project I created a poster that serves as a promotional means for the Avant Garde typeface. I randomly drew Avant Garde as my typeface and spent the first few weeks exploring the history behind it and thoroughly investigating the details within the typeface that make it unique. With over 100 sketches exploring individual letter forms as well as potential relationships between multiple letterforms, I arranged and rearranged said sketches as I began building a composition for my poster. Working with a couple different directions for my composition, I settled on one and implemented the content of the poster, with hierarchy and focal point in mind.
